No to SOPA…

SOPA is an attempt by big media lobbyists to buy a law that would enable them to shut down websites without due process. Currently under consideration in the House of Representatives, this law would enable private parties to essentially force major websites offline for the actions of users, for things such as leaving comments with links to “infringing” works or posting unauthorized videos to a Facebook wall. If you care about your freedom and the well-being of this country, take up this call to action.

The only way to stop this madness is to put the squeeze on the very companies responsible for SOPA’s inception. If media companies have to choose between selling their wares or running SOPA through, they will definitely abandon this absurd law.

Take some time to look around and learn what SOPA is, and what it could mean for the future of America. See how it compares to the DMCA, and find out who is supporting this bill – and why. Take action by boycotting services and products that are sold by SOPA-related industries, and sign the petition on the White House website. Most of all, don’t forget, tell your friends so that we can all fight this together!

Don’t think this will only concern or affect the USA, the collaterals of this law will affect us all… everywhere. Take a stand, inform yourselves, spread the word; change is possible. I won’t be posting anything else until Friday bright and early. The only way we can show our discontent is by joining forces and boycotting.
Sex & Second life is blacked out agaisnt SOPA.

That;s the whole problem….they can't sell their wares when people are stealing them and hen sharing their stolen goods with their friends…if you want good music…someone has got to pay for it… problem is…people want something for nothing…pretty soon they will get nothing becuse those that write, produce, perform, and market music can't get paid

boycott the services and products of the companies that support SOPA???? Problem is people are already “boycotting” them by stealing their product

One thing is to openly protect and “To promote prosperity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation by combating the theft of U.S. property, and for other purposes.” as estated by the proposed bill, and another different thing is granting LEGAL access to your ISP and even be blocked on domestic DNS services without due process… that's like giving the government the keys to your house and granting them immunity to give them to whomever they chose. I'm all up for protection of copyrights but that last bit is just going too far
