Sex and Second Life

I see the light

Second life, unlike many graphic-heavy “games” out there, is a virtual platform, user created and in constant change, which requires images and information to be constantly streamed back and forth, so many things that other users in like, for example multi-player platforms take for granted, cannot be a possibility in second life… yet.

The experience is still very detailed and with the right equipment and curiosity, you can be exposed to the wonderful talent and effort most users put on the place they call home. When it comes to going for a viewer that will fit your equipment’s specifics, there is a wide array of choices, but like most things when it comes to technology, the more powerful a machine, the better.

I recently upgraded my desktop and after nearly two years in second life and I am can safely say that I was missing out on a lot of things -I have been basically exploring around taking pics in a funny tourist trip-, but there are many things users abuse I could safely do without and one of them are face-lights. For those unaware on what are those and what they do, is a very simple body attachment that will basically have a “light” -think “religious epiphany” as a mental picture- illuminating you and those around you.

Face-lights are good and an amazing resource for SL photographers to suggest on their models for better resolution -See picture for an example-, the results are simply stunning if used properly, but I truly don’t understand the purpose of their permanent use; don’t get me wrong, they are not lag producing and there are many things out there that cause a lot more issues, but there’s a fine line after all between using and abusing.

I don’t wear a hat ALL the time in RL only because it makes me look amazing, I save it for amazing-looking times that will require its use, same applies to face-lights in SL
