In a Galaxy Far away…

Sith of CoruscantStar wars has been, without precedent the largest engrossing franchise to date, deeply embedded in our pop-cultural memory, setting without a doubt a before and after when it comes to both story telling and the Sci-Fi genre as a whole, opening doors and paving ways for a long list of talent and featured in many platforms, from video games to action figures, affecting many generations and for what it seems, many more to come.

But how did it all start? George Lucas started working on the script for the first Star Wars shortly after finishing “American Graffiti”, borrowing ideas and references from Flash Gordon and Akira Kurosawa’s film “The Hidden Fortress”, shot mostly in Tunisia, England and Guatemala, the first film encountered many issues during production and forced Lucas to start his company “Industrial Light and Magic” to provide and finance the groundbreaking special effects needed for the film.

I was far too young to remember its first showing, but I can say that all three films were shown in theaters well into 1985, this is roughly 8 years since it was first shown in theaters and if you are in your 30s or older, you can share my excitement when the trailers and sneak peeks started making their way online, clearly heralding the fact that the movie we all waited for is happening, it is real and it’s coming to a theater near you for Christmas, and as if we were meeting old childhood friends, we will get to see them all again -except for Yoda, although I seriously doubt a complete absence of the character, since he is to Star Wars what Mickey Mouse is to Disney- and get some closure on the story, finally finding out what happened after their “happily ever after”

Rumor has it that Yoda will be featured as a Force Ghost, interacting with Luke and most of past Jedis will be featured as holograms in the new Jedi Temple -Alec Guiness included-, so it is time to wait in anticipation and be excited about Christmas, since this will definitely be a big year for Star Wars fans, if you simply can’t wait to get your Star Wars fix, there is an amazing -and very accurate- RP sim inworld where you can unleash your force “Coruscant” -depicted in the picture

I leave you as always with the styling for the picture and, if you have yet to see it, the trailer for the upcoming film.
